Cry Out
Hey friends,

As I worship the Lord and cry out to him for the things laking in my spiritual life I hear this song over and over in my head and in my heart.
I pray you will take a few moments to listen to this song and allow your heart to cry out today.

A flood of Blessing in PA
Come on now sweet sistas, somebaody give me an Amen!

Wooo Hoooo! My time in PA with these extraordinary women was an unbelievable time of worship. Each of you welcomed me with such warmth I just wish I could have packed you all up in my suitcase and brought home with me.

I'm so grateful for the ministry the Lord has built there at GCCC. HE has placed a warrior princess to lead you in Pastor Debbie and she is a powerful woman of the Lord who loves and cares for you in abundance. I can't even describe the love and desire Michele and her team have for serving the Lord, they are the cream of the crop!! They served us all so well and didn't forget even one detail.
Oh friends, I wish every woman I meet could experience the Shakinah Glory we had reigning down upon us these last few days.

I send you my gratitude and thanks for an extraordinary weekend indeed!!!

For those of you who couldn't meet with us, here is a very small taste of what we experienced together.

Lost and Found
Hey friends,

Thanks for your last posts. Diane I would give anything to see your boys in those aprons and Kate, I'm thrilled you have newly found maternity clothes to wear.
Okay... while cleaning out and organizing I found several things I'm been hunting for a L-O-N-G time.

I found my favorite pair of black strappy sandals buried beneath a former pile of shoes in the back of our closet. Remember, I gave 3 bags of shoes to the AM Vets last week.
I found the clothes that belong to my original "Chatty Cathy" doll. Yeah, now that Chatty is properly dressed she can come out of the closet. Poor doll, she had been tucked away hiding her nakedness.

I found my son's teeny beanie babies under his bed in a box - I'm keeping those

I found an old recipe book in the pantry- That has yet to be cleaned, painted and organized.
Maybe this summer.

Well friends, that's all I've found so far. I'm sure there are more hidden treasures awaiting me.
Happy treasure hunting.

Recipe Rescue
Hey friends,

I loved your comments on the last post and Diane Thanks a million for the delicious recipe.
I can't wait to try it.

I always love to collect new recipes, sometimes I even get out of my cooking rut and try them. LOL
I'm off to work, then tonight I'm filling 3 more bags of "stuff" for the Kidney Foundation to pick up tomorrow morning.
The great "Clean House Challenge" continues....
How is your cleaning out and organizing progressing friends?
Perhaps in all your cleaning out and organizing you've stumbled across something you've been looking for. What was it and just how long have you been searching for that item?
I'll share my "found" item in a later post.

Garlic Shrimp
Hey friends,

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Ours was packed full and I'm preparing to speak at a Women's ADVANCE in Pennsylvania this weekend.
On the weeks I'm preparing to speak I like to keep dinner easy and simple.
Here's on of my favorite recipes:

This recipe for shrimp is made with lots of garlic, butter, olive oil, lemon juice, fresh parsley or basil, and seasoning.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 to 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 to 6 medium cloves garlic, crushed and minced
1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 to 3 tablespoons lemon juice
salt, to taste

Preparation:
In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat until butter stops foaming, about 30 to 45 seconds.
Add the shrimp and garlic and sauté over medium heat, turning frequently
until the shrimp just turn pink, about 4 to 5 minutes.
Add the parsley, lemon juice, and salt; stir well.

Remove the pan from the heat and serve immediately, with rice or a salad.
Serves 4

Enjoy!

What are some of your simply delicious meals?
Please share

Girlfriends Serving Each Other
Hey friends,

Thanks to all of you who have signed on the the Clean House Challenge!!
Yeah! I'm glad to know we're doing our part to clean up and clean out our homes and minister to our favorite charities at the same time. Now this brings me to today's post.
I've had this idea for some time but this seems the best time to implement it and get it started all over the country.

I think it would be great if we got back to some good old fashioned girlfriend togetherness.
All of us live a whirlwind kind of life and we barley have time to brush our teeth much less spend quality time with our bestest (my word) girlfriends, so here's my idea.

Pick five friends and once a month one friend gets to have 1/2 a day with her girlfriends.
When it's your day you get to choose what the group will do.
Maybe it's meeting for coffee or lunch or a movie or helping you clean out your closet.
You fill in the blank... but twice a year you get to have your bestest girlfriends help you, minister to you or do whatever your little heart desires.

How about it are you ready to sign up for our Girlfriends Serving Each Other program?
Hey, there's got to be a better name for this... let me hear your ideas.

Clean House Challenge
Hey friends,

This weekend Tom and I had the responsibility of cleaning out our sweet Peggy's apartment. Several family members and some of her closest friends were there to help us.
(Thank goodness).
Her church provides a wonderful service to church members, they will come and collect anything the family doesn't want and then once a year the church holds a community yard sale as a fundraiser. These sweet angels have this down to a science and helped us complete our task in just 6 non-stop fast paced hours.

On the one hand it felt good to get things cleaned up and out but on the other hand I felt much like a vulture as we picked through EVERYTHING she owned. There were particular items Peggy had promised to family and friends and then there was the rest of her things and there was a ton (literally) of it. We actually filled an entire dumpster with stuff no one could use, sell or donate.

Let me mention here, Tom and I agreed twenty years ago that we would never squabble over or fight other family members for "things" knowing there are a few who would insist on taking everything not nailed to the floor. We entered into Saturday's task fully prepared to give it all away and walk away with nothing. We started with Peggy's distribution list then moved on.

Why am I telling you all of this? All of this was a huge wake-up call for me. I would absolutely die (if I wasn't already dead) if my family members/friends had to go through all of my things.
Oh my goodness, I'm certain I have more "stuff" than I could possibly ever use.
After spending all day cleaning up and clearing our Peggy's apartment we went home and I cleaned out 6 dresser drawers. I'm determined to pair down and donate a ton (literally) of "Stuff"

I want to offer a Clean House challenge to each of you.
Over the next few months I'm committed to donating at least 4 bags or boxes of stuff each month to charity.
I hope you will join the challenge and will keep us posted on your progress.
I know we'd all love to see before and after pictures.
Remember my organized storage room?

I can't wait to see what you're donating.
Just think how much faster we will be able to clean our houses without all the stuff that needs to be dusted or washed or folded or put away.
Who knows I just might find the time to read a good book.
Got any goods ones to recommend?

Dancing with Jesus
Hey friends,

Sorry I've been away for a bit. We had a family member leave this world in order to dance with our sweet Jesus. Peggy was an amazing woman who gave her everything until her final breath.
She was a woman who never married but was part of countless families all over the country.
She was a nurse and when she retired she volunteered more than 30 hours each week in that very hospital. She loved everything to do with Elvis and every Elvis impersonator she every saw.
Her apartment is filled with family photos, photos of her beloved dog and tons of family memorabilia and it will be difficult to walk into her apartment this morning and not see her waiting to greet us. It will be an uncomfortable task to go through her things, I already feel like a nosy neighbor invading someones treasured private space.

As I close this post I want to share the one thing I will remember most about our precious Peggy. Four days before she died I visited her one last time in the HOSPICE unit of the hospital she loved so much. Her room was filled with visitors when I arrived (just like every other day). She greeted me with her sweet smile and I kissed her cheek. Within five minutes the visitors had cleared the room and there we were, just the two of us. In the quietness of the room I pulled my chair close to her bed and we began talking and laughing. Her memory was sharp as she told funny stories about my sweet Tom when he was a boy.

As the stories ended and the room became silent I heard the Lord whisper to my heart. "Baby Girl... Ask Peggy if she's afraid to die." As I asked the question, her eyes filled with tears and she said "I hope I'm going to heaven".
I held her hand in mine and walked her through the Romans Road to Salvation.
John 3:16"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."We hear Jesus say, "God so loved the world." God's love has no limitations. He loves "so". More than we can imagine. He loves everyone - not just some ones.
Romans 5:8 tells us that God loved us so that "when we were in our sin Christ Jesus came to die for us."
Romans 3:23"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"This verse tells us that all people have sinned. We have fallen short of God's intended purpose for us. God made us to know Him.... to receive His love and to love him in return.
For love to be love... for God to be God... and for humans to be humans.... God gave us a choice. We can choose to love ourselves and turn to our selfish pursuits. That is sin. In our sin we cannot know God and His love.
The result of sin is that we are lost... separated from God.
Romans 6:23"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."Wages are just payment... due reward... what one has coming because of labor.
The just payment for our sin is death.
Death here means spiritual insensitivity.
When we are still in our sin, we have no life with God.
We are alive physically but dead spiritually. If we continue in that condition, we will be separated from God for all eternity. The wages of sin is death. but God's free gift is eternal life.
While wages are earned, a gift is offered... no strings attached. God says He will give us eternal life - life with Him - in the place of sin's payment of death. How can God remain true to His holiness and forgive unholy sinners?
Because Jesus, His Son, has paid the price for sin by His death on the cross.
Second Corinthians 5:21 says, "He who knew no sin became sin for us, that we may be made the righteousness of God through Him."Jesus arose from the grave to conquer sin and death for all who receive Him as God's free gift.
How can you receive God's free gift of love and life?
Romans 10:9-10"that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
"A person receives God's free gift of love and life by placing faith in Jesus Christ.
To believe is simply to take God at His word. With our heart (whole believing) we believe that Jesus is God's Son who died for our sin on the cross and arose from the grave to live in us as Savior and Lord.
To believe in Jesus will result in confessing that faith with one's mouth.
Do you acknowledge that your are a sinner?
Do you believe by faith that Jesus, God's Son, died for your sin on the cross?
Will you now confess Him as your Savior and Lord?
Romans 10:13"for Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."This verse says that any person who will call upon the name of Jesus, the Lord, shall be saved. To call means simply to ask in prayer.
The verse does not require one to know more... do better... clean up one's life... or in any way try to add to what Jesus has done for us.
Will you now call upon Jesus to save you from your sin so that you can know God's love and forgiveness?
Pray like this:
"Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner, and I am sorry. I need a Savior. I know I cannot save myself. I believe by faith that Jesus, your Son, died on the cross to be my Savior. I believe He arose from the grave to live as my Lord. I turn from my sin. I ask You, Lord Jesus, to forgive my sin and come into my heart. I trust you as my Savior and receive you as my Lord.
Thank you, Jesus, for saving me."When anyone calls on the Lord in this manner, that one is saved according to God's Word.
If you pray a prayer of repentance and faith, you are saved. You have God's word on it.If you have prayed this prayer to receive Christ as your Lord and Savoir, why not record your decision to follow Jesus as follows.
A good place to write this would be inside the cover of your bible:
Believing by faith that God loves me and sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for my sin and arise from the grave to live in me, I, _______, do this day, ________, repent of my sin and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.
According to the promise of God in Romans 10:13, I have called upon His name and have His word for the assurance of my salvation.
When we finished she closed her eyes, let out a huge sigh and said "I feel better now." As soon as she uttered those words our time alone drew to a close as more visitors entered the room.

Why am I sharing all of this? Two Reasons:
(1) When the Lord prompts you to do something...
obey without delay.
That was the last time I saw or spoke to my sweet Peggy as I left her room to board a plane for Texas. Four days later, she indeed left her sick and broken body to dance with Jesus.
(2) When the Lord prompts you to do something...
obey without delay.
The Lord chose to pause all of eternity in order to orchestrate 5 minutes in an empty hospital room in order to meet the need of a dying woman seeking eternal life.

So I challenge you to obey without delay and to share your stories of obedience with us.

A Sneak Peek.......

Here's a sneak peek at "The Dress".
It needs a few alterations so they will ship the dress to me in a few weeks.
Now I just need to lose the last few pounds and find the perfect shoes to go with the perfect dress.

Sorry friends,
I removed the picture to keep it under wraps till the wedding.

Happy Birthday

Let me begin by saying thanks to each of you for all of your sweet and wonderful birthday wishes.

And Yes I am wearing my tiara at work today. :-)

Someone sent this to me and I think it's cuter than cute.
